EMPIRE DESSIN MAÏS

This vertical composition draws on the ornamental language disseminated in the early 19th century by Percier and Fontaine. Swans, ears of corn, and palmettes borrowed from classical antiquity form a motif emblematic of the First Empire style. The design was notably used by Maison Jansen in a prestigious interior during the 1950s.
