FAUNE DANSANT

This Directoire-style wallpaper is composed around decorative cartouches featuring figures inspired by classical antiquity, including satyrs, fauns, and flute players. Linked by leafy garlands and antique ornaments, these motifs reflect the mythological imagery that was especially popular at the close of the eighteenth century. The design reproduces a wallpaper pattern created in 1799 by the Hubert et Dinan manufactory in Paris.
