LES TULIPES

This Louis XVI wallpaper features tulip plants arranged in a staggered pattern on a softly brushed colored ground. Fine flowering stems and butterflies enrich the composition. The delicacy of the veined petals and the lightness of the butterfly wings lend the design a sense of precious refinement. The surviving document was printed around 1791 by the Jacquemart et Bénard manufactory, successor to Réveillon.
