BRANCHE D'ÉGLANTIER

This floral décor features sinuous branches of wild rose unfolding across a hand-brushed ground. Much appreciated by decorative painters of the 18th century, this flower—sometimes called “the rose before the rose”—symbolizes a simple and authentic nature.
